I find it irresistible. This is the last sentence from Sex Without Love by means of Sharon Olds which first confirmed me what poetry is competent of (it is a little lengthy): they're like nice runners: they understand they're on my own with the avenue floor, the bloodless, the wind, the have compatibility in their sneakers, their over-all aerobic- vascular wellbeing—simply elements, just like the companion within the mattress, and now not the reality, that is the unmarried frame on my own within the universe in opposition to its possess quality time. Edit: and sure as Cheese Whisperer says I might not be following recommendations...it is near although.

Much of 20th century poetry is non-narrative. Also, if you have any anthologies (your textbooks for English classes) you should be able to find something pretty quickly.
Many songs are non-narrative poetry, too. They might just express how a person feels without telling a story.

Here is a Sonnet by William Shakespeare.
Sonnet # 7
Lo in the orient when the gracious light
Lifts up his burning head, each under eye
Doth homage to his new-appearing sight,
Serving with looks his sacred majesty,
And having climbed the steep-up heavenly hill,
Resembling strong youth in his middle age,
Yet mortal looks adore his beauty still,
Attending on his golden pilgrimage:
But when from highmost pitch with weary car,
Like feeble age he reeleth from the day,
The eyes (fore duteous) now converted are
From his low tract and look another way:
So thou, thy self out-going in thy noon:
Unlooked on diest unless thou get a son. -
Peace,
Sam
(PS) And yes,Sonnets are forms of poetry!

Try this one:
No world is intact
by Alice Notley
No world is intact
and no one cares about you.
I leaned down over
don’t care about, I care about
you
I leaned down over the
world in portrayal
of carefulness, answering
something you couldn’t say.
walking or fallen and you
were supposed
to give therapy to me—
me leaning down
brushing with painted feathers
to the left chance your operatic,
broken
book.
good luck

I think that you should create a poem that you are looking for, it will be more proud worthy at the very least, and you wont have to lose time searching for one.

What about an excerpt from Carl Sandburgs "The People" ?
This is more of an extended narrative.

Many song lyrics would qualify.
