When you are having a bad day and someone comes up and asks you "how are you". Don't you hate to hear it at that moment...? Do you still say back "I'm fine" even though you were not.

No, I then advise them that I am having a very sour day and it would be best if I stay out of their way, as i do not need to lash out at you because I am having a bad time

I look smile and say I am great,how are you..Might as well be happy no one is gonna listen to ya anyway....I go off smiling then I feel alot better because I have just made someone smile that may have not smiled all day...I feel better....Smile even though you feel awfull and make someone elses day.. see how good it feels for you...Smile....

I just tell them fine so they can leave me alone. I don't want to go into details of my bad day with a stranger.

No. When I'm having a bad day I say: "No I'm not fine. And I don't wanna talk about it. " And then I walk away.
People know not to bother me when I'm not in the mood.

I usually respond with something along the lines of "not as well as I'd like to be," or something more sarcastic if the day is REALLY bad.

One habit I've picked up...
Whenever I don't know the answer to a question or don't feel like providing one, I simply say "yes." So...
Q: What's wrong?
A: Yes.
It's often confusing enough to put people off your trail.

I say "I'm fine" but if the person knows me well they will know that I am not ok

I dun have to share my problem to them - i just say Yes I Am Fine.
