I HATE THEM!!! here's why...
1. they have 2 cameras; one on the first person, the other on the other person.
2. the cameras ALWAYS are on ONLY the person talking
3. they zoom in on their faces way too much
4. the acting is TERRIBLE
5. they always look unrealisticly PERFECT
6. theres always some kind of yellow-brown dimmed light
7. here is a summary of one....either an evil twin, or a coma!
HATE!!!
STUPID!!!

Oh my goodness. I absolutely agree with you. I can't stand them either. They're pathetic. And sooooooooo predictable. Nothing new ever happens. The same things happen to different characters. My grandma is totally obsessed with them and she gets all enthusiastic when they come on and has to watch them when shes at our house. Drives me nuts and makes me angry.

If you think the acting is terrible you are watching the wrong ones! How are soap plots any different from far out movies and tv shows? Yes there are a lot of evil twin, amnesia, comas, ect, but they are a little escape, same as reading a book or watching a movie.

Well my grandmother watches soaps and being a child around my home growing up there was no escape from ******* Luke Spencer or Bo Buchanan "Whatever"
Kelly Monaco would be the only reason i would watch soaps period! She is one sexy lady! Melissa Archer on One Life To Live is'nt bad either! LOL
What annoys me is all the damn court room bullshit "and" how the guilty stills seems to walk and somebody whose sipposed to be dead comes back as another character "or" some ****!Anthony Geary really needs to retire!
As good of an actor he is "Laura" is gone so "Whats the point?"

Well, I consider myself to be an educated, driven, successful woman who is NOT a housewife and I happen to watch GH...I record it every day and at night for about 20-30 minutes or on the weekends, I will view my recording...It doesn't take me very long because I don't watch the entire show just certain parts...I am happy to be able to record and fast forward through to the parts of interest...It's called "ENTERTAINMENT"...It's no different than any other show on television, movies we catch in a theatre, plays we may go see or books we may read that are for pleasure and not necessarily meant to educate us...It's just entertainment! If you don't like it, don't bother to watch!

If you read the following article and replace the word "men" with "women", you may get the general idea. I bet even you can figure it out, Einstein. And as to why some women watch football? Tiny hidden penises? Penis envy? Who knows. I like being female. Men enjoy plenty of random mindless garbage.
Men and their kissass women don't get to decide which garbage is ok and which is not.
Ha and advertising during soaps is targeted to the lowest common denominator? I guess some people think half naked tramps peddling beer during half-time is highbrow advertising? Get a back bone, "hobo."

Oh such anger, I reckon underneath all that hatred you secretly like watching soaps. well it's just like the Howard Stern controversy.... if you don't like them don't watch them!!!
As far as a housewife being the lowest common denominator not everyone is fortunate enough to have a hubby who brings home the bacon enough to support a family so that a woman can stay home and raise her own kids!!!!!! I bet mine are better behaved kids than any they go to school with because they weren't left in day care or a babysitter all day!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I happen to like them........better than the reality shows. I only watch one,,,,,,I do have a life outside my soap. but for one hour a day I can relax.

Dude...let it go... They were created long before you were ever born ... to entertain "housewives"... another thing of the past.
Since you obviously have a life, don't watch them...and don't care either...Now go pick on the daytime talk shows... or find something constructive to think about...
