I, too, am from Chicago and now a suburb of. Prices are higher because space is a commodity, it is crowded, parking is a nightmare, crime is more rampant and the poor are shuffled through the cracks.
But it has it's eclectic plus side too!

Crime, homelessness, crowded. I'm from Chicago, so I know. I do love the city too though.

I guess the fact that no one knows who lives next to them...you may need sth and no one will help you bc they don't know you and they don't trust you...
