There are 5 similarities with different parts :

1. DNA : they both have their own DNA which is circular (not coiled), DNA is not contained in chromosomes, and is not contained in a nucleus (it is free)

2. Ribosomes: They both contain the smaller 70S ribosomes

3. They are both sensitive to the antibiotic chloramphenicol, which inhibits photosynthesis.

4. They have similar diameters

Chloroplast 1-10 micrometre
Mitochondrion 1 micrometre

5. They both have an envelope surrounding them (2 membranes)

They have two membranes making a small system inside the organelle. The inner membranes have sets of electron transport chains. Some of the reactions happen in the gel-like material inside; some of the reactions happen on the inner membranes.
