Never stop learning. Never stop loving. Never think you're better than everyone else. Be supportive to people who need it. Don't do things expecting something in return. Give unconditionally. Be good and listen to yourself. Take in a stray (cat or dog, not person). Help a stray person find their way. Volunteer your time and listen at a nursing home or hospital. Read a book to a child and inspire their mind. Help that elderly lady with her groceries. Don't look away, you can help. Think about who you are.
You know what you can do to better your life, its a matter of doing it.

It's really quite simple:
1. Figure out what the most important things are to you.
2. Organize your life to put those things in their correct
priorities.
And you need to do this pretty much all the time because the things that are important to you will change over time.
Doug
EDIT: Oh yeah...... Don't ever let anybody convince you that they have 'the answer'. There -is- no -the- answer. It's different for everybody. You need to find -yours-, not waste time trying somebody elses.

Please, don't be persuaded by what the first person told you. Finding "God" through Y!A is NOT going to better your life. I agree with everything he/she said until then. If you want to find religion, do it through extensive study and soul searching.
Just be yourself and work everyday on what you think is morally right. Live by your judgements. You appear to others exactly how you want to appear, remember that. If you want to be lathargic and ignorant of others, it will appear that way. Stay true to what you believe is right in your heart.
And, yes, I have recently signed up to assist two local charities in my community, have been giving to the United Way since I began earning a living and am now currently organizing a food drive for the holidays through my current place of employment. All these things help me to believe that I am bettering myself through expressing what I think is morally and socially correct.
