There is no city I've ever been to where I felt queasy from one end of town to another. However, select parts of many cities that I've been to have left me with bad feelings. The ones I remember in particular are:

-St. Louis
-Cincinnati (Over-the-Rhine)
-Louisville (west of 7th Street after sundown)
-Washington, DC (E/NE of the Capitol)
-Newark/Elizabeth
-Birmingham (immediately surrounding downtown)
-Memphis (hmmmm...okay, maybe the ENTIRE city minus Beale Street.)
-Nashville (probably the most vastly overrated city in America, lol)

Memphis was terrible when I went. I don't want to go back. The next worst city is Washington DC. Oops I can't forget Dallas. I remember staying in a Hampton Inn there in downtown. It was surrounded by razor wire fences to keep us safe at night.

My most dangerous city rankings are...
Dallas
Memphis
Washington DC
My safest city rankings are...
Knoxville
Seattle
Portland, OR

I spend a lot of time in downtown Birmingham. It's very safe.

I really think your question is unfair, because every town has safe and unsafe parts. Except Newark and Detroit. No place is safe there.

Newark I dont feel comfortable in but Elizabeth I feel at home. Houston....lately the whole city seems unsafe. A boy was murdered in my neighborhood over a dog.

Cinti, Over-the-Rhine and on certain parts of Reading Road.
Lexington, KY--certain sections near the university.
Columbus, OH--near the airport like James Road and where my first van got jacked. Some other parts too like near OSU and Hilltop.
Tamms, IL. I didn't get a good feeling about that place.

I don't like Houston. That's where the cancer hospital is. My family and I went there when my uncle had cancer and he didn't make it. I just don't like that place now. I don't plan on going back either. Not to mention how horrible the humidity and traffic is.
