Not sure. Of course being the oldest is hard with taking responsibility of everthing, but so is the youngest. They have to live up to everyone else. I'm the third of four siblings, my oldest is 26, then my brother is 21, then me 14, and the youngest is 13. The age gap makes me feel like the oldest though. When I do feel like the middle child I feel like I'm fading into the background, i guess it's just tough being a kid.

I' am the youngest and it depends on your particular family and the person to be honest. I seen where it is hard to be the oldest, middle, and youngest child in any family. Everybody have their own problems and experiences going up. With the oldest, their is a precedent where you have to set the examples, the middle child rarely gets attention or notice, and the youngest kid have to complete and be compared with the oldest constantly, especially if their are perfect. So, it is different for different people.

I am the second to the youngest, and I definitely think it's hard, becuase the older sibs had ruined alot of things for me. Of course I'm on my own now so it doesn't matter anymore but growing up it was hard, especially since we had a mixed family. Oh, and I was the only girl living at home with 5 brothers, which in a way sucked, but also it's good becuase I can hold my own. I'm pretty tough if I have to be lol

I'm the oldest of 2, and all of my best friends were the babies of their families! I definitely think the oldest has more expectations to live up to and we are the guinea pigs for how our parents will actually "parent"!
I know I have an easier time with my younger 3 than my oldest. With her it is all new and I really have to think about my reactions and actions.

I think it is hardest to be the oldest because parents put so much pressure on the oldest. I am the baby so I had it easy! But I did see the differences. The baby gets away with everything and that is true!

Well, I have had a strange childhood...where I have been an only child, the oldest of 2 and the middle of 3 lol. When my folks split, my Dad took me, so I was raised as an only child. When they tried to get back together, (I was 9) Mom brought my 2 sisters, one older and one younger....they split again....then tried it again lol..(15 now) .but it was just myself and little sister that time......
So, in my opinion...being the middle sucked! lol Loved being the only child, and being the older one was pretty good too.

I agree with you!
I'm the oldest of 4.. and there is a 9yr gap between me and the next sibling and she complains how hard she gets it.. but it's nothing compared to what I went through!
I think the oldest child is the 'experimental' child, and then as they have kids more and get more experience in child raising they tend to get more relaxed..

I am the oldest. It is a big responsibility and can be a pain in the neck. My sister got away with so much more than I ever did. I broke my parents in for her.

I'm the oldest of 4, and I agree with you. I never got away with anything, while my younger sibs got away with a lot more than me. But they all look up to me still, even though we are all grown with families of our own.
