is it varnish?

i'm making these matching superhero rings for my friend and I by using disney princess rings i got at the dollar store. If i'm using a picture i printed off do I need varnish to keep it on the top of the disney ring or should I just go ahead and use hot glue?

You could glue it on with regular white glue, then use more white glue thinned with water as a sealer.

use glue sparingly as it can lump up behind the picture. do not use anything on top to seal it with....the print will just run off and you will have no picture left. no sealers.
