It was Don Herbert who passed away in June. He starred in the "Mister Wizard" series which Billy Nye, in his series "The Science Guy", tried to emulate.

no way, hes alive.... your friend is trying to scare you or something, never trust your friends! if bill nie died the whole science world would die, and it would be on the news.

Not that I can find. According to his official website he is Alive and Kicking.
That is assuming you are asking about Bill Nye the Sience Guy...and not some other Bill.
