The last time Clinton was "elected" president. I was "tuned in" and "turned on" to the whole, "...by the people, for the people" ideals. I was legal that year, first time voting, and...

He declared himself president before I had a chance to vote.

It was then I learned that "popular votes" mean nothing when choosing a president. That it's all decided by the "electorial college" and the entire free world is deluding itself.

It's just all so pointless. The commercials, the mud-slinging, the endless junk mail, the empty promises, it's all crap.

Think of all the time, money and effort the "elections" waste.
All the money that could go to schools, bridge and levy safety and old folks.

So, I "dropped out"!

Also, "star gazing". And I don't mean in the sky. Everyone goes stupid over "celebrities". Me too (tuned in and turned on), until I realized they were spoiled, stupid, and had nothing to do with reality.
They have nothing on me or my life, but supposedly, they are better than me? I don't think so!
Dropped OUT!

I've been in that state since Sunday. I turned on the television, tuned into football, and it's like I'm still dropped out on the couch.

Those days are gone Man. That statement that Dr Timothy O'Leary made appears to end up contradicting itself anyway. First you tune in, then you turn on & then after you've tuned in & turned on- you drop out & forget about it?!! Go figure.

1989, although to be honest about it, I wasn't very "tuned in" due to what I was turned on to. It pretty much tuned me out for the night. But boy oh boy did it ever feel good. I can definitely see how people get addicted to opium.

Well, I just turned on the TV and tuned in the Twilight Zone. I finished high school and never dropped out.

If you are referring to the departed Dr. Timothy Leary, I've never taken LSD or any other illegal drug.
