My last period was over on August 7. I have been off the pill since the end of July, therefore I had my last period AFTER getting off the pill, so I figured my cycle would just go back to normal. Why haven't I had a period since August? Its almost been 2 months without any kind of discharge. Is this healthy? I have an appointment with my gyno on Monday, but has anyone else experienced this? I don't want all that junk to "back up" if that is possible..

There is nothing wrong with you. It is not uncommon for a woman comming off the pill to have light to no periods for a couple of months. According to most doctors a period isnt really necessary every single month. some women dont have one every month. Dont worry nothing is "backing up" Think of all the questions you have and write them down then on monday when you see the doctor you can ask them then. Remember there are NO stupid questions. If you just dont know something then ask. If you didnt ask a question you had and then worried about it... that would be stupid. Its your body and you should stay informed of things happening to you.

They menstrual discharge doesn't back up, per se.
The discharge is the lining of the uterus, that wasn't needed that month for a fertilized egg. Sometimes, people have erratic cycles when they go off the pill. You may just not have ovulated that month.
This is not a form of birth control by the way - have you been using anything? Some people ovulate the day after they go off the pill! AND get pregnant.

Sometimes it can take 6 months to a year for your periods to get back on cycle, depending upon who long you took the pill prior to stopping them.

The pill decreases the amount of lining over time, because your ovulation stops...so that is why your periods get less, and/or even stop...so the lining won't back up...it will shed when it needs to.
