hi,
i have a 1976 dodge b300 1ton motorhome, i recently took a 5.9L 360 engine out of this because the block was cracked, bought from a junkyard what was surpose to be a 360 but was a 318 , found that out after i got home(i know a 318 will move this motorhome because we had a bigger motorhome with a 318 in it awhile ago), i rebuilt it with 318 parts, put it in the motorhome and it runs fine, no smoke, it has a carb. all the vaccum lines are hooked up to where they are surpose to be, used every vaccum diagram i could find and did it over and over again, it is times with a timing light, rpms are set to the they are surpose to be but everything i put it in gear the rpms lower and when i go to push the gas pedal all it does is NOTHING!!! engine drops rpms more then if i hold the gas pedal long enough the engine stalls out. there is no crack in the block i hope, no oil in the water or water in the oil. any ideas to what is causeing this????

just a stab in the dark but, you just might want to check the basics. if you just replaced the engine, i would double check transmission level, flex plate integrity (are all the bolts were they should be.) you know the basics. sometimes if you take on a large project like that you overlook the small things half way through. i can give you an example. a guy went in to get his water pump replaced on a newer dodge. after the pump was in, the technician noticed a new problem, now the alternator would not charge the battery. he then tested the system and condemned the alternator. replaced it and thought he was complete but still no charging voltage was available. his shift was over so someone else took over. now this gut is not quite comfortable about electricity so he checked a few things and gave up. walking by me, he asked me what i knew about the stuff (electricity). all i said was enough to keep me going, a fair amount. he told me that he was getting 23 volts at the back of the alternator, and only 11.something at the battery. i made the comment that it sounded like a broken wire to me. i went over and checked a few things, connection integrity and a few different fuses. the charging system fuse had blown. replaced it and the problem was gone. as a mater of fact reinstalled the original alternator and still no problem. the original tech skipped one step. on most projects in a car, the first thing that they recommend is that you disconnect the battery. wooops.

Rebuilding an engine isn't shrink priced. because of the undeniable fact that Hyundai has a adverse resale you would be greater applicable off merely merchandising the vehicle. It wont be properly worth plenty greater merely because of the fact its have been given a rebuilt engine. people may additionally ask your self what else is faulty that it necessary this way of substantial fix with in consumer-friendly words 61k miles. If its rebuilt properly your engine would desire to be severe high quality for an prolonged time. i ought to easily sell it because of the fact if the engine is undesirable so right now what else may additionally pass undesirable previous to well-known.
