He was toying with the idea, but nobody seemed to be interested.

Recently (Sept. 10), he announced that he had no plans to run.

He claimed he is retiring in 2009 so that might mean a bid but if he did, he is way behind everyone else as most people announced way long ago.

I respect that man, because he is not afraid to be outspoken on issues he's passionate about. And he's a common sense, no nonsense man.
I actually wish he would run. But he's not running, to answer your question.
