I posted this on women's health, but I feel like more people on here would answer.

So, I am 2 weeks late for my period. Last month I had an odd period, so a few weeks later I took a test and then I haven't gotten my period so I took 2 more tests last week(both take at the same time, but 2 different brands just so I knew the answer was certain). Today I saw a doctor and took an STD and pregnancy test. Both came back negative. She also definitely didn't give me a reason why I might not have my period, so that wasn't any help.

I have never been irregular and definitely never missed a period. I am not stressed, I have not lost or gained a lot of weight, I don't work out more or less, I don't have an eating disorder, I'm not pregnant, and I don't have STDs.

Anyone have any idea why I haven't gotten my period?

How old are you? Somewhere in the 40's, earlier for some women, we enter perimenopause and the first symptom is periods changing in length or flow or time in between.

You really should have gotten SOME kind of answer from your doctor, even if only an educated guess.

I don't know how old you are but I would wait another month or two to see if things go back to normal. I've had weird periods too and things got back to normal. And you can be late without stress and all that. I'm a week late right now, but I'm finally getting pms symptoms and it's coming. Sometimes periods are weird for no reason.

My suggestion would be to have an OBGYN do a hormonal workup. This is extensive bloodwork to show all your hormone levels. This happened to me a couple years ago. I was never late, never had any problems, didn't have anything wrong with me and I went to the hospital and they did pregnancy test and ultrasound. They found nothing at all. They told me to have a hormonal workup and right before the appointment I got my period and it was every month for a year or more until I got pregnant.

I think you should go back to that doctor and demand some answers or get an appointment with you gyno. I honestly don't think that anyone here is going to be able to tell you. All of the obvious things such as pregnancy etc have been ruled out so you really need a specialist to sort this out for you

A normal period occurs when your ovary releases an egg and the egg is not fertilized and the remains of the cyst where the egg was, which has been producing progesterone, dries up and your progesterone level goes down and you have a progesterone withdrawal period. BUT if this month you don't release an egg and don't make progesterone, you may not have a period on time. You probably will next cycle. Don't worry about it, since your tests are negative.
