do you hate the new poser mcr fans? the ones that used to call them emo and stupid?! i hate how they have totally changed their mind about the music from one song! they neglect the whole past of MCR and how they got to where they are. it makes me sooo mad when i see those kind of people. what do you think about it?(ONLY MY CHEMICAL ROMANCE FANS, PLEASE! Helena-i do agree with you. that EXACT thing is happening to me at school! this girl, at my school, even calls MCR emo and goth. and arent MCR fans supposed to stick up for MCR. and not put them in a horrible label like 'emo'. the reason i'm upset about it is that the same people who bashed them before and put me down for liking them, love them now. all i hear at school now is how 'hott' gerard is. if your going to love a band, love it for the music.

yeah what the person above me said. i really hate people who say they are total mcr fans when they only know teenagers and the black parade and only like them because of gerard and/or frank.
there's this new girl in my school, she wears mcr shirts everyday and is always talking about mcr and, of course, in particular, gerard. she found out i liked mcr, so she started talking to me and sitting next to me at lunch. one day i finally asked her since when she liked mcr. her answer was: " ever since(ever since?!) i heard teenagers i totally don't hate them anymore, like, they saved my life and stuff, ya know? and gerard has really awesome views on revenge and stuff, and plus...don't you think its awesome and funny that people think we're (we're?!) like gothic or emo" -_- i was so mad.
people only think mcr are emo and posers is because of how the way posers portray them as. if it wasn't for them, mcr would have a better reputation in the poser department and wouldn't be called emo as much, or maybe even at all. that's a reason mcr fangirls are driving me away from mcr.
seriously though, in a situation like this, i think ray, frank, bob, gerard and mikey would probably say that we shouldn't judge those types of fans. we might as well be one of them if we judge them that way. the only thing that should matter is that we all like mcr, not who likes them or why. we are all connected in a strange way, by one thing, My Chemical Romance.
besides, we shouldn't be worrying about what they are labled as, or what we are labled as. i'm not saying its wrong to defend yourself at times, but we should be doing what a true fan does... just listen to mcr's music.

Agh!! I'm so torn! You see, I didn't catch on to them by a radio or some ****, I did happen to watch 'Helena' one day because I was just going through music videos. My mom saw me watching it and was like, "Why are you watching that? Turn it off!" so I did because I was only 10 at the time and I was really sheltered. You should have seen me watch that video!!! I was freakin hypnotized! But, I never knew it was MCR until I turned 11! The sad thing was, I was a 'good girl' and my parents didn't approve of that kind of music for such a young girl. So I just gathered up all the info I could on the band, but I couldn't do anything else with it so it just faded away for a while. Then, I started hearing them on the radio, started listening to them on the computer as I do now. I don't care if my parents don't like it! I think my mom changed her view on my listening to MCR since I was 12/13. She thinks they're pretty ridiculous, but I don't think so!!! ALSO!!! I do love Gerard and Frank, but I also love Ray, Mikey, and Bob! So, all is well! ^_^

totally agree with you 1,000%!!!! the poser "fans" only care about MCR's looks and how "hot" Gerard is [or whoever else they think is "hot".] they really don't realize that when it comes to MCR, looks aren't really in the picture. MCR is a respectful band w/ great values and amazing messages in their songs but the posers obviously can't grasp that. they hear 1 maybe 2 or 3 songs (which happen to be the latest ones usually but not always) and call themselves "fans".

There are so many people at my school who say that the like MCR. They totally neglect the past facts about My Chemical Romance. How Gerard survived all the **** he went throught and how it's saved the bands lives as well as our own.
They don't know what the lyrics mean. They don't know how thoose lyrics have saved us.
They sing the words but don't know what It means.
I took my friend to an MCR gig, the only lyrics she knew the words to were 'Im Not Okay', 'Welcome To The Black Parade' and 'Helena'.
Thats not a true fan, right?

yes and it drives me crazy!!! pore mcr, there going to turn in to pop and yet there rock. it's so sad.
and i hate posers too, they only do it for the looks and instead of listening to the words they listen to the sound not the true meaning of the song. and the new mcr fan posers only (most likely) heard of them because of one or two songs on the radio.

i compleletly agree, i have this fairly long reason, along with an example that i want to type out, however, i have to leave for school in like 2 minutes. but what u said is 100% true, it makes me mad too. i think helena should get best answer for this one. she really hit it on the spot about what mcr would probably want us to do, since we r all conected afterall.

i didn't feel like reading every answer before me but i agreed a lot with helana and artfreakx.
once a couple songs hit the radio, everyone's convinced they're the band's biggest #1 fan ever! uhm, so sorry but no. i mean people can like their songs but when they start going on about how obsessed they are, and i have 3 albums, it sorta bugs me. and i'm not saying i'm their biggest fan or whatever but seriously.
most people think that the black parade is their first album! and the band most likely doesn't really get affected by who thinks they're hot...it's about the music. even some of their music explains hows they're about the music.

ugh.it's so annoying.most of the 'fans' of MCR at my school think that the Black Parade is their first album!and if i tell them that actually,it isn't,they say (makes me super mad),'you must be thinking of another band.' what the hell?!i think i know what i'm talking about thanks..
you know another thing that annoys me? when they write 'moi chemical romance'.ACK!and then next to it they have the name of some shi tty rapper whose lyrics go completely against MCR's message.
