When I was about 17 years old I got stressed out and ended up not being able to sleep for FIVE DAYS STRAIGHT!
The last straw was when I had to drive a friend home on the 5th night and almost drove off the road because I had started to see things.
I went home and drank a bunch of NyQuill and slept for 24+hours straight.
It was fun for the first 2 nights... I got board but was able to get a LOT of stuff done! But after that it started to get tiresome... no pun intended...
I have just had to come to terms with the fact that I'm naturally nocturnal... I ONLY get real "Restful" Sleep while the sun is up... So if I need to sleep at night I am forced to use Melatonin, valerian, and Sleep II Diphenhydrmine HCI 25mg tablets.
It sucks and I know it will shorten my life span by YEARS but I need to keep “Business” hours and it is the ONLY way that I can sleep while the sun is down.
If you have Sleep Issues then I am ordering you to go see a doctor and get this problem diagnosed and fixed… Not being able to sleep and not being able to sleep “Normal” Hours is a MotherF*#$%^.
It needs to be taken care of for your health… both mental and physical!

Everyone who ever had a child has done this.
I have done it as
1] a mom of kid with high fever
2] a mom of newborn
3] emergency visits to ER - one for Rob, one for Will, and one for me
4] when I worked [ nurse ]
5] when I had a brain aneurysm
6] when I was on chemo - side effect of steroids [ steroids bad - very very bad ]
7] insomnia
I am not counting any of the fun ones - I did it recently as security at my son's all night grad party at the rec center - I had a great time!

I always stay up really late because I have such a hard time falling asleep, even tho I eventually do. But every once in a while I like to drink and pull an all nighter, that is pretty fun!

Yes. It is not a good idea to sit down to watch a movie at 7 in the morning afterwords though... My friend and I were out before the movie started. (Three months ago)
