There are over 6.6 billion people world wide. Most of these people live in more popular countries like China, India, and the United States, and most of those people live in large cities such as:

Mumbai, India
Delhi, India
Shanghai, China
Beijing, China
New York City, U.S.
Los Angeles, U.S., etc.

There are many uninhabited and under populated areas of the world. Many islands are uninhabited. China has the largest uninhabited land mass in the world. Most land is uninhabited by humans due to climate conditions, land composition, means of transportation, access to utilities, and the inability to support the very basic of human needs ie shelter, food, and water.

Greenland has a population of only about 40,000, about 1/40th of Manhattan's, though Manhattan is 37,000 times smaller.

Here's a link to the Population Clock for the U.S. and the World. http://www.census.gov/main/www/popclock.html

In 100 years, life on this earth will be very different indeed. Think about how people lived a 100 years ago, versus today. Bet they didn't even know about computers, robots, or living in outer space.

Now the population of this world is about 6,6 billion people. The big 4 population is in China,India,USA and Indonesia..Yes the space which can be populated is going to be smaller because of so many denselu populated areas. The forest will be smaller too because it is converted into rice fields, housing and industries. The price of land is increasing. So in several countries such as in China,India and Indonesia conduct the program of family planning that the maximum children is 2 or 3.God decreases the population by giving us diseases, floods, tsunami, mount erruptions, earth qwuakes etc(act of God) and war/killing among us..In some areas there are famine and poor people. The addition of population is like geometric series while the addition of foods like an arithmetic series.

we are exploring space and the ocean bottoms for more room to live. Space holds out the eventuality of almost unlimited room to grow. I believe there are now more than 6 BILLION people on good old terra firma. Since population is constantly growing, there being more births than deaths, there is no right number at any given time.
