I usually think of sears as the only place to buy appliances but there customer service/delivery is horrible. Is there a better place to buy and does another place have good repairs too?

We have bought about 3 sets of washers and dryers from
Lowe's over the last 30 years. 2 GE and 1 Whirlpool.
Usually one or the other breaks at about 10 years, and the repair is more than the price of a new one, so we just replace them, unless it is something my hubby can fix. My mother
liked Sears, but they have changed.

I would never buy appliances from a large dept store like the ones you mentioned. Find a small appliance store. I live in the South Bay area and always buy from Townsends Appliances or Spears Appliances. When stores are TOO big their customer service suffers. Buy Maytags top loaders.

I bought my Maytag washer and dryer from best buy. We took them home in our truck though. Never have had to have them serviced. I bought the top of the line dryer and the bottom washing machine and I love them.

Buy a good brand and you usually won't have to worry about repairs.
