would an impreza wrx be a good car for back and fourth community travel for college and longer trips to and from home? if not what would you reccomend

I hate to say this because I love my WRX, but the last answerer was right. My best gas mileage is 24mpg.
I would expect that a normally aspirated (non-turbo) would get better gas mileage. I don't know whether they are available with side airbags like the WRX however.

This is a car for all markets. I own one myself. Great for long rides ive taken mine from Boston Mass. all the way to upstate New York, no problems very comfy. Its a solid car to from a great manufacturer. I can't really think of any other cars like the wrx, its kind of in a world of its own, its the little brother to the best rally car ever ( the STI) and the big brother to the base model sedan ( the impreza). Great car though, go for it!!

I own a wrx impreza, and i love it and wouldn't trade it for anything. But to be honest the mpg isn't too great.. It's perfect for back and forth commutes, but for longer trips you'd be having to put gas in it every 2nd-3rd day or so. And on top of that it uses Premium gas only, so it costs quite a bit to keep filling up the gas tank .Well, hope this was useful to you. =)

It works well for me - I have about a 10 mile commute in a variety of weather conditions. The ride and handling are nice in good and bad weather. Fun to drive. Highly recommended.

Yes, good gas mileage. My boyfriend has one. It's a comfortable drive, especially where we live where there's bad winters. It's a fun (and fast) car. Very VERY comfy on long drives because it has nice seats and room. Good luck!

If you like to do street racing and pick up chic's then I'd say go for it!!!!!!!
