Buy some deodorant and body spray and put it on their desk without them seeing you. They should get the hint.

FirstI would bring up the subject of taking baths and using deodorants as a hint. If the person didn't take the hint, then I would ask my supervisor to speak to him/her.

if you are friends i would bring it up carefully. ask them how they would handle telling someone else.
if you arem't close i would let management or HR handle it. just let management know and they should do it discreetly
