Because the hexagon is the strongest shape for something made of wax. The angles are slightly off; same reason, because it is the perfect thing to make.

Because it is the strongest geometric form there is and when a creature is using wax as the concrete of the hive then you need the best design there is.

it is because bees only have 6 legs so make a 6 sided structure because they can't count higher than this
