Mine - I worked constantly in my 20s and never had a chance to have real fun. Man, I regret that now.

Funny. Mine's the opposite. I went from high school to a champion alcoholic & drug user. Living the "High Life." Luckily I made it through without hurting too many people other than myself. However, now I'm stuck starting at the bottom of the foodchain as a File Clerk and working on a bachelor's degree part time. It's a bit of a bummer at times, but a decision I made and have to make the best of.

I would have listened to my PHD wielding world travelling father during one of his many lectures about school. (None of which were enabling) I should have done better in High School and I should have finished college. My only regrets are not finishing school... yet.

Now. Don't get me wrong. I LOVED my 20's. Yeah, a lot of the time I wasn't sure where the next meal was coming from, but I've LIVED really hard and I'm not done. I've seen and done things, places and people that would turn the "educated" into jabbering thumb-sucking imbeciles. I've been to jail, and also associated with foreign dignitaries. (And I have pictures to prove all of it) All of the folks I went to high school with went to college, settled down, got married and "successful", got stuck and are still wondering what they missed out on. I used to think I was the exception and that my experiences gave me a unique monopoly on life experience, but one night, I told a friend, (In a bar) "you shouldn't be too eager for experience, it'll come on it's own whether you like it or not". That conversation pretty much made me do a gut-check.

The drawback to my 20's? I now have a wife and a kid I love more than life. They deserve everything I can do for them. The tiny fight I've been having with life, I've gotten used to, but it's not what I had in store for them. If I'd known for a fact they were coming, way back when, I'd have prepared a little better. There's always smarter ways to get smart and there's always one more thing you can do.

I feel that all of the experiences we've gone through are what mold us into the people we are today. If I could cheat on this answer I'd just say I'd go back and play the correct numbers on powerball, but in the "spirit" of the question I'll go in a different direction. I would have never moved out of state with my girlfriend straight out of high school. It kept me away from living the life I really wanted/needed to, and delayed my entry into coaching by 7 years. (which was something I've had a passion about since the day I graduated high school)

I would never have gotton married as I also thought this was the best thing to do. I later learned in life one can live unto the Lord and be clean and happy.

I would have bought a house when I had a chance to do so. I was young and scared of the responsibility. Now that I'm older i realize what a stupid thought, because I would have made it!

I kinda wish I didn't skip a grade. The experience really slammed me, and still does. Not to mention lack of friends. Sigh. I still have friends in 7th though. I oughta be thankful for that.
