I've used AT&T (Cingular, PacBell Wireless) for years and am very happy with it - it works anywhere I go, and many of the others have no signal where I have good signal. This includes Verizon, Sprint, TMobile, and others.

My understanding is that Cricket has limited service coverage (this may have changed). The bottom line is, will the phone work where you want it to? If so, pick the one you like best. If you're unsure, ask other people in the places where you need your phone to work what they have and if they are satisfied with the signal coverage.

Watch out for the contracts, especially if you're unsure of the carrier - you could be stuck with 2 years and no service!

Good luck

I currently work in the cellular field. The top criteria should be coverage, which ranges from area to area. Plan 2nd then phone model last. A cool phone with a low plan but sparce coverage isn't worth it.Type in the common carriers and look online to see who has the most dense coverage in your area and go with that. You can have all the minutes in the world but if the phone doesn't get signal or roams all those minutes are useless.

Cricket offers mostly city wide coverage and fades rapidly when in the country. Verizon, Cingular T-mobile - U S Cellular types cover country, city, desert etc.

on of my friends has Cricket. it blows in my opinion. I have verizon. The service is great, but the phones could be better. I like AT&T's phones more, but their service isn't as good. you should ask your friends that have different providers & see what they think.
