im a ballerina, and keeping feet clean and nails short is a necessity. I have had several ingrown toenails- but never have i had surgery! ow. that had to hurt!
When i get an ingrown toenail- i soak it in epson salt. for about 10 minutes-
then it just grows out bc epson salt softens skin yet also hardens it for the nail to grow out.
Better luck next time!!

i've got had one...It injury, the podiatrist ended up removing it, placed 2 gigundo (stated j-eye GUN doh) sticks with pointed cotton bits on the top on the two component of my nail, decrease out the ingrown section, made it so the nail does not regrow into that section... how do i comprehend this? I watched the full ingredient, numbed foot, yet no demonstrate or something...

Yeah I've had 2 surgeries too. Best advice would be to just have it surgically removed depending on the severity of it. Sometimes, even though it is extremely painful, I manage to fix it on my own. Dip your toe in warm water and Epsom salt it helps a lot with the infection.

yes i did last year and it was so painful, i remember going to the podiatrist and him telling me it was so bad the whole nail had to be removed...sure enough i freaked out cause i knew that meant NEEDLE time and i had to be injected in 4 different parts of my toe in order to numb the foot. Before i knew it the nail was removed and i ran out of there....needed antibiotics for a bit but its grown back now and all is good....so how are you doing now??

Yes, and my big toe would "thump" like crazy. I used a damp, warm, washcloth to make it feel better. The discomfort only lasted 3 days or so.

i've have a few but they werent that serious... at the first signs of it i soaked my foot in warm soapy water.. google "ingrown toenails" you should find some sites to prevent it.

I have. I just clipped the end, and cleaned it with peroxide. Then I washed my feet and put Vaseline on them, concentrating on the ingrown spot.

My sister gets them - she had a toenail removed because it had grown through her skin and caused her lots of pain. I told her she needs to trim them more often, keeping the corners smooth and shortened.
