Sure, from house to sewer or septic and even out to the drain field. Better as a lot of sludge won't stick to it.

Are you on septic system or city sewer? If you are on city sewer...you will need to use the Schedule 40 PVC...that is the heavy duty pipe....plus I would use the heaviest you can anyway...just to make sure it doesn't get crushed.

Best check you local building code. Most places require ABS for sewer lines. Building codes can be a pain, but they are there for a reason and usually it's because what they call for is the best thing for the job.
If you go cheap you will often end up spending more for repairs then doing it right .

Most areas are using it for sewer lines but some areas have different codes. Easier to check first.

As everyone else has said, you have to check building codes. In many places, it's required that a certified plumber to any work on sewer lines.

It is preferred in most places, but you should consult your building codes in your area. Some have a thing against PVC for some reason and required something else.
I'd do it PVC just for cost and ease.
PEACE!

Check with your local building codes. most accept the PVC now.
We use PVC and have no problms. It is easyer than the castiron to install and cheaper too.
