Older cars would, but not alot of newer ones will. Even if an alternator is bad, the wiring has to complete the circuit. If the wiring is not connected to the alternator, the circuit isn't complete, and will stop some cars from starting.

The car will start, but it is running on the battery. When the battery runs down, the car will stop. The alternator serves two purposes. It recharges the battery, and it provides an electric current to the sparkplugs, or ignitors to enable the car to continue to run. You would last longer with a diesel, but in the long run, when the battery runs down, the car will stop.

Yes, it will.
The alternator is not used during starting, it is used for charging the battery. But the car will not run very long as the battery will discharge gradually, and the alternator not present to charge it.

Yes the car will start without the alternator, all the alternator does is charge the battery.

yes it will start but probably wont stay running very long,it doesn't need an alternator to start, all the alternator does is keep the battery charged in it,but you,ll have to have a power source to the one wire that goes to the alternator or it probably wont even start, good luck with it.

it actually depends on the vehicle, but in most circumstances as long as the battery is strong enough to supply a solid 12 volt signal to the ignition system (no matter the type of ignition system) it will run until the battery discharges enough to drop voltage. it may be possible to have a vehicle that has circuits completely dependent on the charging circuit but i have never seen one.
