I had the same problem. It is very hard to say goodbye, but never saying hello is worse. A very good friend of mine once told me that it's not the final destination that matters, but the journey itself. What matters are the memories you made together and how special they are. You will keep those memories for the rest of your life and cherish them forever. You shouldn't dwell on losing someone because that part of life is unfortunately inevitable. However, having even a short but great friendship is not a gaurantee. I know for a fact that having friendship, as long as it is a good experience, is well worth it. Time heals the pain we feel by losing a loved one, even it's not by death, but by other obstacles we face in life. Don't be afraid to make friends. Showing kindness and compassion, even just a little, is a very important act and can affect more than you realize. You will enjoy being a good friend with someone for any amount of time. You will regret growing up alone and without memories, but not if you open up and let loose! Take chances in life, they will take you to places you have never known exsisted.
Hope this helps, and take care!

It happens... I moved a lot as a kid and I've had to say many goodbyes. Somewhere along the process I got deeply hurt by it but I didn't know any better, I wasn't strong. Now, I have more friends trying to keep in touch with me than I try to keep in touch with them. It sounds bad, but it's true. Try prioritizing yourself. That way you won't get as hurt. Realize that you're capable of making friends and you have an entire lifetime to do it.

If you're shooting for popularity then it's a problem but other than that I don't see how serious it is unless you want more friends to help you get those votes for officer elections or have a better social life.
Stick with your good/close buddies because they are the ones that you will probably still see during/after college.

Yes it hurts. Goodbye is too final. But you need a friend to hang out with and someone to talk too. It is life.

Well if you make friends you will have them for a good long time so worry about that when the time comes!
And no offense but you might be shy im guessing so just try to open up!

People will walk in and out of your life. There will be happy times and some not so happy times but we all have to face or forever life alone. Which isn't much fun so just face your fears and live life to the fullest.
