Gasoline actually costs less today than when Carter was president when adjusted for inflation .
Also , liberals want to keep artificially raising the minimum wage , but this practice causes more inflation.
Here in Texas a 1500 sq. ft .house costs $95,000 and my teenage son got his first job at $8.50 an hour .
When we left Liberal mecca California last year
the same job paid $6.75 (minimum) and that house costs $500,000 instead of $95,000 .
If the price of gas was $1.60 in 2000 and now is $2.48 that equals an annual increase of 6.5 % for 7 1/2 years .
The price of gas increased more than 100 % nearly over night under Carter .

Actually TD the $2,000 car is now $20,000 so the $1 gallon of gas could be $10 and in line with what it is today. $3 a gallon does not feel like a bargain but it is; sadly we give the liberals a chance to tax those big bad oil companies and it will be $4 a gallon in no time and they'll squander the tax money on socialized medicine.

you are absolutley right. I have a newspaper clipping where hamburger was 5 cents a pound does that mean someting has gone wrong that it is not that today. No it just means that prices go up on everything.
The Liberals just want to try to scare everyone into thinking that Bush has ruined everything and that if you dont vote for a democrate the world is going to end.
they want you to think that if a democrate gets into office gas prices will go down and the world will be right. If a democrate gets elected and gas prices go up they will just blame Bush saying they are tied by what he did while in office.
One thing you can say about Bush is he has stood behind what he has done. Unlike the Dems who voted for the war in Iraq and then when things were not popular they stated the "Iwas against the war before I was against it" and the "I was tricked into voting for the war" Well they got the same intel and if they are that easily fooled then maybe they shouldnt be in office.
The truth is like usual they dont want to be accountable for their actions. The liberal media lets them slide with their "It wasnt me" answers so they continue to do it.
And for those that say they are too young to remember the carter years and gas shooting up so their outrage is justified. Ignorance of history is not an excuse for being mis informed in your opinion. That is why the dems feed this garbage to the younger crowd they know they are too lazy to research the information on their own so they get away with saying unfounded stuff like this.

Because they cater to the lowest common denominator, the poor working class, who has to fill-up their gas-guzzling '80's used vehicle the same as Mr. SUV or Ms. BMW Z4 convertible. It's easy to lay blame, but not easy to fix the problems. But the gas isn't the problem, it's that wages haven't kept pace with the rise in prices, except at the TOP of the food chain ( ie, top-level professionals ), so the bottom segment gets hit hardest, and are the biggest Lib voters out there.
They're NOT stupid, they are playing on the disgruntlement of their voter constituency. They'd promise free gas paid for by the richie riches if they could get a single vote for it. Don't believe THAT for an instant. THey just want to get some votes ( and points ) for making an issue of it.

Those of us in the younger generation aren't old enough to have seen gas prices "shoot up" when Carter was president. As this is the first time we have ever seen gas prices TRIPLE in an incredibly short period of time, our outrage should be considered justified. I'm sure your generation was ranting about the price of gas in the late 70's. If you say you weren't, you must be lying.
I was born during the Carter years, btw... so of course I don't recall the prices spiking.
What I do remember though, is that in November of 2001 I was paying 89 cents a gallon and filling my tank for around $10. I'm now paying about $30 every time I fill up.

it may be fairly elementary for any president to diminish gas fees dramatically. gas is taxed at each and every degree of its advent. via removing excise taxes, expenditures and taxes on oil businesses shall we see fees fall via extra advantageous than a dollar. The $30 billion in taxes that Exxon paid final 365 days went straight away into the fee of gas. fees could desire to fall much extra if we've been to allow oil businesses to drill for the abundant, fairly retrieved oil that we've regionally. merely drilling there could right now make fees fall.

Is this a question or merely a political statement? The mere fact that postage stamps and hamburgers have gone up in price does not give the oil companies the right to gouge the public. There is never any oil shortage except when the producers decide to restrict the supply.

The first half of Bush the Liberals were blocking exploration and gas prices went up and even over 4$ a gallon. Bush then promised off shore drilling and almost overnight gas prices dropped dramatically and almost towards his end it was down to 2.00$ a gallon simply because of his promises of drilling.
If you say you're going to drill (even if you don't actually do it) is enough to get the gas prices to temporary go down as speculators will invest in that promise.
Now Obama is the butt of their jokes as he continues to scare off the speculators and now Australia will get their reward instead for the huge oil find.
And for those who say you cannot eat oil? Guess what? Oil delivers are foods to far away places! No oil and no food.
Also the material in our ******* shoes are made out of oil so no oil means no shoes or wooden shoes.
Are you willing to walk around in wooden shoes you're whole life?
Actually forget that as you'll be exempt and it's the rest of society that has to walk around in wooden shoes while you Libs get the fancy shoes for you're cushion jobs.
It will take riots to bring back this country I am afraid.

Michael Moore gets a boil on his @ss and the left blames Bush. Hillary comes down with a bad case of the crabs and they blame Bush. Blah, blah, blah. They blame him for EVERYTHING whether he deserves the blame or not, so I'm hardly surprised that they blame HIM for the rise in the price of gasoline.

Well considering that private contractors are now drilling oil in Iraq, Alaska and Afganastan they're should be more oil in supply. Is it just a coincidence that our president is invested in the oil industry? Put two and two together neo cons.
