There's actually no problem at all, its just your legs was not stretch properly so theres a lack of oxygen in your legs. Stretch your legs right and it will turn back to normal again.
But if theres pain, call a doctor so they can check you up!

When you are sitting (especially with your legs tucked or crossed) you are interferring with the flow of blood through the limbs. This interfers with the oxygenated blood arriving to the tissues of the legs. When you get up, they can be a little bluish in color. It should resolve in a few minutes, probably get a little red (ruddy) then return to normal - if it persists, you should see a doctor about a circulation problem. It is pretty normal from what you described, though.

You really can't sit for very long--it's imperative that you get up and walk around at least once an hour. Between hours, your feet should be elevated above your heart. You can't let that blood pool in your extremities, because then the other parts that need the blood won't have it.
Are you a diabetic?
Call your dr. in the morning and ask if this is something to be worried about. I think it's probably common in older people--my grandma would get it if she sat too long--but better safe than sorry.

Well, If you were sitting on your legs for a long period of time, then your legs may have gotten numb from poor circulation and then turned blue. Just like what happens to your lips when its winter and your not dressed right. So try to keep your legs moving or dont sit on them for that long. So most likely its from poor circulation.
Hope it all goes well.
