no everybody in brasil is insanely poor, believe it or not. everyone thinks most people are, but tht's not true. it's just that the most famous brasilian players grew up poor. except ronaldinho, he wasn't poor. he was pretty well off.
anyways, you know how much time americans/ candians spend playing on the computer or, video games or watching tv? that's the time brazilian soccer players spend playing soccer. i used to play soccer ALL the time, until my knee got messed up, but that's beside the point. and it's not just brasilians in brasil that play soccer, i was born in brasil, but i live in canada and im CRAZY for soccer. i used to play for about 3 hours, till dinner, and then i'd go and read some articles on past games, and then go out and play for another hour or so. i usually dragged my friends along with me and made them be goalie and i taught them how to kick and stuff.
that's what the brasilians in brasil do, except way more intense and they teach eachother what they know. last time i went ot visit my family, all i did was play soccer with my cousins, and they taught me some moves, and they're not poor. they're pretty rich actually, the only difference between them and the poor brasilians is that they have better gear. that's the only thing.

It boils down to 8 hours a day, seven days a week - Believe it or not. You really need to travel and read more. If you already are doing the reading, try another source. I have been to Brazil several times and they aren't insanely poor and they have all the options we have it here in the US. The people there love soccer (Futebol) and just like little kids here love baseball, there the kids love their game. I saw daily kids going to school with the books under one arm and a soccer ball under another arm. Instead of video games about soccer, they are playing it in every corner in every street. Take care,

Soccer is the poor Men's sport ,that's why it is the most popular sport all over the world even the countries who never played soccer before are becoming familiar with it. they say that in Brazil,
"every baby is born with a soccer ball "
It's not about football or gangs but it's about their LOVE for the game because in America we have plenty of different sports but some people choosed gangs over sports ????
