I've been trying to think of a science project to do for the ninth grade science fair for a while. My friend said that putting teeth in soda and watching them dissolve after a while is a good experiment. I've done some research and it doesn't seem quite as easy as that. Anybody know how to conduct a good experiment? Specifics about what I could do? And is it true that I could get teeth from the dentist? Any help is...well...helpful. :D Thank you!

I don't know about teeth, but try bone or eggshell -- also calcium based.

baby teeth are the best to do this experiment on, i seriously doubt a dentist will give you teeth..other peoples blood on them and so on. i dont necessarily think an experiment as to which is worst is gonna be good..the only time i have seen it done was in just one soda..and one tooth in water..to show the difference with pictures from the start day and then the actual tooth in a jar in soda to see the difference

my friend did this same project

first the dentist will give you teeth

and what my friend did was fill up like a baby food jar with the liquid then put the tooth in there for a week but before that i think like weigh its mass or somin to find out how much decay is on the tooth and what not then do that after the week is up

You might not need to go to a dentist. The tooth fairy usually keeps a small supply of them in your parents' dresser drawer somewhere.

Do dog bones (from a pet store) resemble teeth?
