No. This question has been asked before on YA, and I will give a slightly modified answer: You should do your homework beofre a marriage to make sure you are compatible. Even for those that do not put effort into keeping their marriages loving, it is far too easy in most if not all states to get a no fault divorce (I did for about $250 in louisiana) and move on with what you have your name on. I would like to see the minimum age for a marraige liscense raise to 18 though.

Marriage is a commitment, where is the commitment if you can leave in 7 years? What is the point. Why not just move in? Live together for how ever long you both decide works for one another. Then just move on??

Speaking from experience, although happily married for over 20 years, seriously, there were many times when, had we been given the option to "renew", either would have opted out of the contract.
I don't regret the extra "push" to work it out.
Marriage is hard...only the strong survive.

that all depends.
Marriage is suppose to be for the long haul. Some people might think that yeah, i can hold out for 7 years and then I can move on. That puts alot of feelings on the line. Marriage is suppose to be for good for the rest of your lives not temporary like visas.

I think divorce should be easier at any time...
That idea would probably be very stressful, when the marriage is almost 7 years long, there would be that fear of the person leaving you.

Why ,it is easy enough to get a divorce now . Why would you even get married if you though you would want out after your 7 years was up?

The only thing that would change is the time before the divorce is final. People already consider their marriages to be disposable.

Then what is the point of marrying? Why not live together instead? Too many laws get added and take the entire meaning away from it all.
