No, you do not need live theater experience to be a successful film and tv actor.

No. Even though acting school is a helpful requirement, it's not a college. But whether or not you've ever, even taken acting lessons, a big necessity for becoming an actor, is membership in the actors' guild, and being able to afford the trip to where you have to go, to become an actor, along with being able to afford, to rent an apt, in Hollywood.

Most of the best actors have honed their skills on stage. Much is learned by performing in front of many different audiences and the feedback is direct. The discipline of making each night come alive and fresh is a tremendous asset when a director decides on the 21st take of a shot.

no it isn't necessary, but it is very good experience. a lot of actors and actresses have done stage acting before, TV/film, and will often return to stage acting - there is just something about it.
Just remember that a brilliant actor on stage will be brilliant in TV/film, but a TV/film actor who is gd, is not necessarily going to be gd on stage, e.g. because things such as projection of the voice will vary. filming for TV/film is easier as the speakers will pick up on the voice and record it. on stage projection is needed

A theatre background helps, but there are film actors who do not have a solid stage technique. Julia Roberts got poor to mediocre reviews when she appeared on Broadway. It helps to have as much versatility as possible, so theatre experience is a good idea even for film and tv actors.

No. I actually feel it takes more talent to be in front of an audience and there is no "editing" in stage acting.
