The business is listed under Mirage Hardwood floors as a dealer. When I called, they said they could buy the engineer floors for me. It would cost $7.77 per square foot. Home depot sells the same item for $10 per square foot. They said I can either pick it up from the warehouse about 10 miles from my home or they can deliver it to me for $60.
I would need to pay a cashier check for $2953 and they don't accept a credit card. It is a real store with an address that I can go to. Is this a red flag to pay for cashiers check? Any recourse? They did say they would write me an invoice for the items I ordered.

They may be legit, but if you are not satisfied and you paid in cash/cashier check then you have no recourse. CC companies have merchant requirements and that is why they will reimburse you if the deal is not honored or you get ripped off. The fact that they won't accept a cc tells me they are either not well established or not trustworthy.

Perhaps their price is materials only and
The Home Depot price is the installed price ?
The most expensive engineered I've seen at HD was about $5 (material only )

Especially since they are saying you pick up .
Installed , they bring it when they do the work .

And unless you have installed MANY floors ,
Do Not attempt to do it yourself .

RED FLAG ALL THE WAY! either they're legit and they've been screwed so much they're only protecting themselves or they're a rip off. dont risk being scammed to save a few bucks. either shop around or go to home depot.

any big business will be able to accept credit cards...I own a business and I know this....This is because it doesnt cost much money to have one...and if they dont often get a sale...they can have their bank accept the payment for them for a smalll fee...So, this is definately...a RED FLAG!!
