Give me a number from 1 to 10 on what you think my score is for being a redneck.


i love being outside around a fire. I have lived in the country all my life and hate to live in the town or city. I love country music and love to sing it...
I like to hunt and fish and i hate to shave my face...love to let it grow.
i live in louisiana and i am cajun and llive the cajun lifestyle...but dont listen to cajun music..jus eat the food....i lived in louisiana since i was born. I believe men should fight one on one, man to man, not gang up. I love to grow a garden and raise chickens and other livestock. I love bein outside and i hate staying indoors too long. I love ford and chevy trucks....chevys to race and fords for offroad. I love old ford tracters and love to fix things. And aint nuthin better than a good ole sauce.

So what if you are? There is nothing wrong with being a redneck. Redneck is a slur that Yankees who have no culture of their own like to use to belittle their southern countrymen and have no real understanding of what they are even saying. I'm a southern half/jew btw and I will take a redneck over some stuck up Northern snobby Yankee anyday. Redneck is a term that most people don't understand, and was originally a term of endearment. It has it's origins in the Apalachian coal regions of West Virginia during the time when working class miners were fighting for their rights against the big greedy coal companies. Miners tied a red bandana around their necks to signify that they were pro union anti-opression to their fellow miners. The "Redneck Army" as they came to be known then marched towards Southern West Virginia to face off against the greedy big wigs, the local sherrifs and the private army of leg breakers that were under the thumb of the coal companies who were intimidating the local mining families. They actually fought a battle on a mountain in West Virginia until the National Guard was called in to keep the peace. Redneck pretty much signifies that you are salt of the earth working man, and since that seems to be a thing that alot of Northern city dwelling yankees fear (hard work), they like to make fun of it to make themselves feel better. Did I mention that most Yankees have no culture other than fanaticsm and greed? So take it for what it is worth.

well, without seeing how you dress, how you smell, how your place looks or how many teeth you have, or your tobacco use habits, I will rate you an 8. Large dogs will raise the rating, as will outside refrigerator for beer. As will a taste for collard greens.

BTW - sounds cool. I'm from LA and know a lot of guys like you. I typically reserve the term for Southern country folk who are not Cajun, since Cajun really covers a lot.

PS - can you make a roux? How many beers does it take?
Do you boil your own crawfish, fry turkeys, fish, or hunt? Do you eat roadkill if fresh? Bonus point category.

That sounds more country than redneck, you didn't mention anything about shotgun weddings, TVs in the yard, complete collection of McDonald's collectible Nascar cups. So my vote is a two that's hardly redneck.
