dolphin fan here-have to take the bears over the dolphins and also take the pats over the bears the science of football has improve greatly over the years and todays teams and players are much better the the older ones-conditioning-training-couching-the whole game has gotten much better----at least thats what my head says-my heart of course says the dolphins-wouldnt put my money on my heart though-----enjoy the night

With each decade, the NFL evolves. Players get bigger and faster, and offenses and defenses become more advanced. The 72 Dolphins had a great defense, but the 85 Bears had a bigger and better one. The pass rush of the 85 Bears would have completely destroyed the 72 Dolphin's passing game. The 85 Bears competed against much higher powered offenses in the 80s. I also think that the 72 Dolphins would have had trouble stopping Walter Payton, the Fridge at the goal line, and the more advanced passing attack of the 85 Bears. The 72 Dolphins were great, and undefeated, but this was against NFL teams from 1972. They could not go undefeated in 1985 or today. Therefore the 85 Bears would win.

In all fairness i would have to say 85 Bears, i was not born yet to witness the 72 Dolphins and i was blown away by the Bears.

Who's rules do you play by ? The rules changed a lot between 72 and 85 . Different rules for o-linemen , DB's , and QB's . You just didn't pass against the 72 dolphins and nobody has ever had the running game they had. In an age when teams only passed 20 times a game or less there RB's were truly impressive. In a time when o-linemen couldn't grab onto a defender the dolphins MOVED defenders out of the way. The bears were an impressive team and deserve to be one of the great NFL teams but the Dolphins are the greatest team.

The 85 bears kicked every1's *** exept miami's that season. Their defense was probably the best in league history, and they kicked *** in that Super Bowl. Look at the 72 Dolphins; they were undefeated, but they were still 7 point underdogs vs. the redskins in that SB! That should say something about the difficulty of their schedule.

In addition, the Bears didnt almost throw away their SB win over their idiot kicker.

I would like to see the 85 bears play against the pats. Imagine the 'fridge against Richard Seymour and co? Nice

Yeah i agree. People complain and say its okay we lost because they are a good team. If you can't beat a good team you can't win a super bowl. Big respect for the 72 Dolphins though. Even though 73 probably had a better team.

Depends on WHEN they play. If they play in 72, the Bears lose because they are too young. If they play in 85 or later, the Dolphins lose because they are too old.
