1. Get the "Cliff Notes" brand of study guide. It is a great help.

2. Find someone to tutor you. Sometimes it takes a real person to help with the information. This is nothing to be ashamed of. I had a tutor myself when it came to passing the math Praxis.

If you are near a college (or even a high school) post signs in the hallways asking for a tutor. Offer to pay $5-$10 an hour. Tutoring looks good on resumes and college applications.

3. Keep note cards of concepts that made sense to you. Note cards should be simple sentences and bits of info. It is easier to study for tests if you have small bits of information than it is to memorize information in paragraph form.

4. Remember that standardized tests are not helpful to all learners. They measure how well students can regurgitate specific information, not how smart a student is. Play their game.

5. Don't get emotional. The more upset you get, the worse your writing and answering becomes. This happens to a lot of people. Our writing will decrease, and we well answer more quickly because we believe that it doesn't matter anymore.

6. Get tested for a learning disability. Learning disabilities are nothing to be ashamed of. People with average to above average IQs have them and it simply means that your brain processes information differently. If you do have a learning disability, you can get a lot of extra help.

Good luck
:)

WOw im sorry your having such a hard time, but expecting to fail and getting angry about it wont help you. You need to look at this like you will pass and your going to pass and you already see your self passing, focus listen to what you need to study what where the questions you got wrong so you can go back and get them right. also reeterate with someone else.
ask them questions and have them ask you and tell them the answer. relax youll get it if you believe you already passed and just doing it again and calm down really bad energy no good.

Some people are just not good at taking tests. I know this is a fact because one of my friends, who has a law degree took the Real Estate exam six times before he passed it. He has never been able to pass the bar exam to be able to practice law in our state. And this is even though he made high grades in college. He just is no good at taking tests. Don't give up. Keep taking it over and over, and believe me, you will pass it eventually. I think this is important to your self-esteem, so work on it.

Wow, just reading this makes me hurt for you. I will give you my best study technique and pray it helps. I would as a rule become easily distracted so I wrote my own notes from the textbook in my own words. It helped reinforce what I learned and kept me focused. I ended up with a 3.7 through college. It takes longer than other forms of study, and is frustrating..but it works...Stay strong...

Don't feel bad. Some people just don't do well at taking tests. Also, have you ever been tested for ADHD? Consider getting yourself tested, because if you're diagnosed with that or with another problem, you can be treated and accommodations can be made. Good luck!:)

You're not smart... I mean look at your spelling and grammar. Some people are just stupid. Face the facts.
