Long story short I had an accident, I am off work and home pretty much all day every day, for the first two weeks I didn't go out at all. Anyway my so called friend rang me the day after it happened (this was 6 weeks ago) and I told him about the accident, he was concerned and said he would come and visit me.... Well its been 6 weeks, I haven't seen him except one time I bumped into him when I went out! He hasn't called to see how I am doing and hasn't even responded to my phonecalls.

Every other person I considered a friend has visited and/or called, I have already decided he is a waste of space not only from this but previous unrelated conflict in where I have given him the benefit of the doubt many times before...

Do you think it's rude for me to tell him that I don't entertain bu!l Sh!t friendships, that I no longer consider him a friend and had it been the other way around I would have been there in a heartbeat REGARDLESS of what I had on!

Should I tell him why? What would you say?

I don't think its rude at all.

Bad times (no matter what they are from) have a way of filtering out who really cares about you. There are always surprises there too, good and bad.

I'm glad you are on the mend!

I would feel tempted to do just the same. But...

I would let time go on. And "erase" that "friend".
I mean never take calls again, avoid any type of contact.

I would give no more importance to that person in my life and that involves not doing any call, message, e-mail, etc.

Just erase that person from my life.

I real friend (best or average) would never behave that way.

Calling that person is giving him some importance he surely does not deserve.

I'm sorry your feelings are hurt. You really find out who your friends are when the time comes that you need one. I don't think saying that to him will make you feel any better though. Write a letter instead. It won't be as angry and the chances of an arguement will be less. You'll still get your point across. I hope you're feeling better soon....

well first of all i hope you are feeling better and yes that was bull crap. I would like to think a true friend would be there for you when you need it the most. i mean even if he could not be there, the least he could have done is called to make sure you where OK. I think its time to dump him as a friend

No, don't say that to him, but do tell him when you do see him that you were disapointed he didn't stop by to see you like he said he would, and see what he says then. If he gives you a really lame excuse, just let it - and your friendship go. At least you know who your true friends are, the ones who did show up.

That would not be rude at all. He's not much of a friend. I'll bet if you came into some money he'd be around.

I just wouldn't talk to him, and if the subject comes up, you might then express your disappointment in his not coming to see you. BTW, love your Avatar name. made me laugh.
