Imagine that you have gone to work in one of the big cities in the United States in the late 1880's to 1900. You work very hard in a factory, and there is talk of unionizing. Write a letter home to your family describing your conditions and the prospect of joining a union. Tell them about the reasons why you should join a union. Talk to them about the dangers of being part of a union as well.

First you need to know how to spell letter.

During that time the factory work was grueling work, like in a sweat shop and very hard with long hours and terrible conditions. So whine and complain about that to them.

The idea of a union was brand new then and they didn't know much about it so you need to tell they the good things like better pay, shorter hours, more safety. And the bad things like the union people will control you and tell you waht to do.

I'm just giving you pointers. You need to write the letter yourself as if you were a young woman forced to work in those conditions. You also have to pay for room and board and have little left to save.

If you write a "litter", you're in trouble.

It's a "letter". Big difference.
