If we are willing to sacrifice freedom for safety does that not give the "terrorists" what the US government claims they hate most? An end to the American way of life we know and enjoy. Sacrificing freedom for safety is foolish. There will never be an end to what could be given up in the name of safety.

We all sacrifice some freedoms to be "safe"...do your front and back doors have locks on them? Then, you've sacrificed your freedom to come and go easily by playing safe from burglars. Do you use passwords on your computer(s)? Then you've sacrificed some ease of use for protection from idiots and mayhem artists. Yes, we seem to lose more and more freedoms every day, the closer we live, the more hectic our lives become. The smaller the world becomes, the more chances we have of being robbed, beaten, killed, or kidnapped. Some will give in and pay up, others will take a stand. It's up to the individual, after all.

The freedom to be secure in your papers and privacy.
Amendment IV

The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated, and no warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause, supported by oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized.

Amendment V

No person shall be held to answer for a capital, or otherwise infamous crime, unless on a presentment or indictment of a grand jury, except in cases arising in the land or naval forces, or in the militia, when in actual service in time of war or public danger; nor shall any person be subject for the same offense to be twice put in jeopardy of life or limb; nor shall be compelled in any criminal case to be a witness against himself, nor be deprived of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law; nor shall private property be taken for public use, without just compensation.
Those got tossed out with The Patriot Act.
Long as the Citizens go along with it, the Politicians will pass such as they see fit to make more monies for themselves.
It has been this way since Rome was an Empire.

Do you mean the freedom to bring a 20 oz coke through airport security?
I still have life liberty and the pursuit of happiness.

So far no freedoms have been removed. Stop reading all that crap on YouTube, etc. These sites are generally 99.9% inflamatory and untrue. They have been created for people who do not have the mentality to understand that they are incorrect.

No I refuse to sacrifice my freedoms for my so called "safety' we have laws to protect us. The government should be not given a green light to spy on whomever they please without going thru the proper channels. Give them an inch and they will take a mile.

Our freedoms should NEVER be sacrificed for ANY reason. If we have fewer or no freedoms, we have nothing worth protecting.
