they do that mating thing with their claws near each others faces, but i just wanted to know how do i know which one is female and which one is male?

Males have much longer claws and longer tails. Here's a good link---look under general turtle information for pictures.

Males have a concave plastron (the underside of the shell). Females have a flat plastron. Males have their plastron slightly concaved for mounting the female.

If they have long nails then they are males if their nails are short then they are female. Also the males have fat tails and females have thinner tails.
