Because people have seen how desperate veterans mesh together to achieve the ultimate goal, that is attain the ring.
Look at the Lakers of 2004 they were unstoppable. Not until the Kobe Shaq feud broke in humongous proportions in the Finals of that season they were deemed instant champions.
I don't see that in this crop of Celtic team, I believe that all of them are level-headed players. And I believe its not wrong for any fan to believe in their respective favorite team's capacity just as you believe in your own favorite team.
Hope this helps.

Yes I think they can mesh and I'm quite sure they're all mature enough to divide the points and be a go-to-guy all three of them.
Look at the Nets, they're doing it for quite some time now already. Jefferson doesn't mind he isn't the only option in offense no more. Another example: The Spurs (Duncan, Manu and Parker)
I think Pierce will be happy that he has a great outside shooter, being Allen, that can share the offensive load with him. I'm also sure that KG is happy with the fact he doesn't have to put up 20+ points in a game no more and can focus on cleaning the boards and blocking shots.
For any coach this is a dream to coach also, he will have three options in offense, depending of the type of team whom against they'll play!
Off course we still have to wait and see how it will go, and it would be really special, and maybe not very probable, they will win a championship in their first season together. But you can't deny the fact that The Celts are an intriguing team now with a very high potential.

your completely right. No team in history with three superstars has eva had a go to guy. MJ pip, wilt and jerry west, stock and malone. They only had 2. 2 is company and three is a crowd. Why would a team want 3 absolute superstars when only having 2 is so much beta. I mean if boston is serious about winning they should de activate Allen or pierce so they can have a goto guy. I mean jeez three goto guys with diiferent abilities (KG inside, Pierce mid range Allen the three). Ainge should be hung. I mean picture it. 10 secs to go. KG punches out pierce and allen so he can take the last shot and celtics lose their 50th straight game. Those three haven't gone to boston to be NBA chamions. they want to be the goto guy. they weren't that on their old teams so they went to boston to be the main guy. Boston was so silly signing three guys that just want to be the goto and have no interest in winning a championship. I mean with so many on the trophy cabinet.
I'm sorry i'm rambling. Im just so angry that boston have done this.

You have your point, but think about it. They are great team players that are willing to share, and most importantly, they're all hungry. Yes, chemistry wise, they may not mesh well, but they'd definitely won't have any problems sharing the ball. Just look at how Team USA played this summer, it's more about how well they work together rather than what they did individually in the past. Michael Redd was one of the leading scorer in a team with Melo, Kobe, LBJ for crying out loud.

I personally think there would not be that much problem of three people meshing together for championship. However, in fantasy game wise, that is going to hurt their value certainly ray allen's. Winning championship is not, however, up to just having good regulars. You gotta have good backups to win championship. Celtics traded so many bench players and they don't have good bench. Look at Miami and Spurs. Miami had good backups when they won championship with Zo, posey, payton, and others. Spurs have Duncan, Parker and Manu, but they were also Finley and other good backups. Celtics' bench is little shaky to win championship.

They're all only in it for the ring, ego's will not be a problem, that's why I think they'll mash well together. Not to mention all are Vets who have already shown with they could do. There not worrying about making the all star team and crap like that, it's strictly business for them. I'm not saying they'll win the championship, my pick is Phoneix if Marion still wants to play there, but boston will probably go kinda far in the playoffs

No i dont think it is possible because they will all want to be the superstar after all they all were on different teams for kg for example he got to be a star for like 13 years and he wil not get used to sharing the ball that often

Ya you got a point Kidd but I'll take the Celts over those Nets any day even though I like New Jersey way better than the New England area

oh they're gonna mesh together just think of it they had and still have some of the off season left to get to learn how each other will play.........and also there wont have to be a go to guy when you have 3 NBA ALL Stars who all average over 25 ppg ...and THEY ARE UNSELFISH WITH THE ROCK (RAY ALLEN MORE THAN THE OTHERS) if not win the championship they will get pretty close to it

In all honesty, I think either King James or the Bulls will reach the FInals this year.
