What are some dog friendly places on the strip/in Vegas? We have a 15 lb. poodle mix, and we want to take her with us on vacation. I hear that the Westin and Four Seasons both allow dogs and are near/on the strip. They're a bit expensive tho.. plus, you can't leave your dog alone, and would need to hire a pet sitter. Anyone have any experience with pet friendly Vegas?

Before anyone else mentions it, I'm not leaving my dog behind. She likes to travel with us, because she gets to be with us. She likes that beyond anything, including her comfort. But of course, I would never allow her to be uncomfortable. It's a shortish ride from LA, and she wouldn't be left alone in the room, as we'd hire a sitter that the hotel recommends. Traveled with her before, and it was fine.

The phone number for the Las Vegas branch of the Nevada SPCA is below. They should be able to answer your question. BTW, about five miles east of the Strip on East Flamingo Road is Dog Fanciers' Park. It's behind Sam's Town Hotel and Casino. Great dog runs. No admission fee.

While I have no experience with Vegas, I can recommend www.petfriendly.com as a good site for pet friendly hotels. Do consider leaving your dog home though. Pets are not that in to travel. Its not as much fun for them as it is for us and they dont' really like the change. It often upsets their schedule and diet and takes them much longer to get back to normal upon the return home. Also, if you lose them while away, it is often not that easy to get them back, especially since they are in an odd location. Try finding a family member that your dog knows to take care of her or consider boarding her at a kennel while you travel.

If you are rich enough to go to the four seasons, then you can solve this problem on your own. Hire a dog sitter while you are there for a thousand dollars a day.
