why do we have gender bathrooms?

i mean people say girls can be raped well there is no magical barrier stopping rapist from getting into the girls restroom also people say we mite have sex well homosexuals can do it and its illegal to have sex out in public in general so yeah

it is because I don't particularly like wading through a pond of urine just so I can use the facilities. I am guessing that men also would not like to have the little covered trash can next to them while they are using the facilities
