The Detroit Pistons of the late 80s/early 90s or the San Antonio Spurs of 99-2007?

which team would win if they went head to head in a 7 game set?

Also which teams would win between these matchups!

Are the Mavs of 2000-2007 better than the 1992-1999 Knicks?

Are the Phoenix Suns of 2004 - Present better than the 96-2000 Pacers?

Pistons because their defense is far better than the Spurs and they've got Thomas and DUmars who are a little better than Parker and Ginobili. Plus having Rodman, Mahorn, Salley and the Microwave is a plus. Bruce Bowen is only one denfensive stopper. The Pistons look like 12 Bruce Bowens out there when they take their no nonsense defense to the court. Laimbeer is gonna **** Duncan up.

The Mavs are a more cohesive team than the Knicks. Dirk Nowitzski can't be stopped by anyone from the 90's except probably ROdman or Pippen.

Steve Nash and his Suns will run down the Pacers.

Pistons Best record was on the late 80's and early 90's and Spurs best record was the 1994-95 season...

For the first match-up I guess it would depend on which era the are going to play, If they'll play the same rules as the 80's then the Spurs will never survive the battery they'll going to recieve from the Pistons. Spurs defense would be too soft against the late 80's Pistons... Well of course if they play in this basketball era rules Spurs would dominate since Detroit most likely would not have any palyers left to play for them.

The Mavs vs. Knicks: Knicks no doubt! Better offense and better defense (of course they have their defensive enforcers in Patrick Ewing and Charles Oakley + the offensive prowess of a John Starks or a Allan Houston + the brilliant minds of Pat Riley or Jeff Van Gundy). They'll pummel this Mavericks team for sure!

Phoenix vs. Indiana: It's going to be a close fight but Indiana would prevail thanks to their clutch machine Reggie Miller. 4th Quarter is Miller Time!

Hope this helps.

See source for the stars.

The Bad Boys are much better on defense than the Spurs. If the formula for Spurs being a great team is defense, then Pistons is the better team. Between Duncan and Rodman who will get the rebounds? Rodman. Between Isiah and Parker, who's a better point guard in scoring and assists? Isiah! Between Dumars and Ginobili/Finley, who is the better shooting guard? Dumars on both ends of the court! Bill Laimbeer will kill anyone who gets in his way! Laimbeer is dirty! Laimbeer, Johnson, and Aquirre shot 15 ppg. Orlando shot 14. All the Pistons starters averaged in double figures. The same cannot be said of the Spurs.

The Knicks vs the Mavs? Look at the source of the star list. Ewing vs Dirk? Ewing. Starks/Houston/Sprewell vs Nash/Terry/Finley? Defensively, Starks/Houston/Sprewell... heck, offensively Starks/Houston/Sprewell! And Johnson/Camby/Thomas vs Howard? Johnson/Camby/Thomas of course!

The Miller-time Pacers vs the best 00's Suns?
Defensively, the Pacers were one of the best defensive teams in the league even in the top 8 three times... well, Suns don't play that much defense, but their best defensive player is Marion. Can he guard Miller? And the Pacers aren't a one star team. Jalen Rose led the team in points in 1999! Rik Smits, the number 2 option, shot 18 ppg. In 1998-1999 and 1999-2000, the Pacers were the number 1 team in offense! So with inside-outside scoring options, how can the Suns guard them?

Something you forgot. So who in the West now can play against the Magics of the 90's?
