I actually think there should be less. I liked it when it was six teams. Too many teams get a chance. I guess it does make sense since they added more teams to the MLB in the past couple decades, but the playoffs are very special and I think only the best should make it there. Only a few teams should be allowed each year.

No. Its a joke in football and basketball because the lower ranked teams never compete with the better teams. At least in baseball a wild card team can compete. The Angels even won it as a wild card team a few years back.

No. Eight is good; opens up the field enough to keep fan interest until very late in the season, without making the regular season cheapened to just a gigantic pre-season, and allows for the postseason to wrap up in 3 to 3 1/2 weeks instead of dragging out for two months like the NBA or NHL (the NFL has such incredible and unchallenged arrogance that it deliberately inserts a dark week before the final game, and fans accept this as normal).

I would not want to watch a playoffs into December, that wouldnt make the playoffs feel like the playoffs.

Its just right as it is now. I cant imangine somebody being called Mr. December.
