Yes, it is a way for one to "recharge their batteries", if one does not take the time to rest, relieve stress and have times where one can relax and feel worry free, one will have a very difficult time remaining positive, active, healthy and productive. That is why breaks during the work day and work week are essential, that is why people are given time to take off from work for various reasons, holiday, personal, sick, etc. It doesn't necessarily have to cost much, but the reward is more than ten fold when you are able to relax, you will be refreshed and ready to be productive again.

Yes. Life is for living and for having experiences. A vacation is an investment of experiences.

A long time ago I stopped looking forward to my vacation and enjoyed the life I was living. People work all year and look forward all year to their vacation. For them it's an investment for me it's just another part of life for me to enjoy.

Well, I wouldn't go into debt for one, but yes. Vacationing can be an investment in your relationship, yourself and your commitment to your core values.

Example: After over 11 years of marriage my husband and I finally were able to take our kids on our first family vacation. No kidding. We went on a 3 day honeymoon for our 10th anniversary--never had a honeymoon before. Both experiences were enjoyable and uplifting and gave us all a brighter outlook on our future.

Mentally and emotionally people need a break from the daily grind of life. We have to stop sometimes and breathe or we'll just stress ourselves into misery and death. We're human and sometimes we have to play in order to be healthy.

You don't have to spend tons of $$$ to vacation, be creative. But by all means, VACATION. :)

That's like going to a store, spending all your money on something that was on sale, and "saving". How could you have saved if you're broke? An investment is something that pays you money. If the vacation pays you more than you spend, then I want to go too.
