I just want to know what states have Freddy's and what states don't. I live in Alaska, and do most of my shopping there, just like I did when I lived in Oregon. I lived in New York for a while though, and don't think I ever saw one.

I miss Freddy's!!!!!!!!!! I grew up in Oregon and now I live in Ohio and we have "Kroger's" here. Even though Kroger bought Fred Meyer a couple years back, it is still not the "same store"!! Ironically, we also have "Meijer" (pronounced "Meyer") and it is more like Fred Meyer than Kroger is!!

Fred Meyer currently has GROCERY/DEPARTMENT STORES in only 4 states:
Oregon
Washington
Idaho
Alaska

Now there are Fred Meyer Jewelry stores all over the country. Fred Meyer Jewelers owns a couple different chains of Jewelry stores, like Littman Barclay, Merksamer, Fox, etc.

Also Fred Meyer was bought out by the Kroger Company, so some states got moved around to one of their other divisions. Like the Fred Meyer Utah stores are now Smith's stores, and I'm not sure what they changed the Montana ones to, but Kroger has over 27 different grocery store divisions, so they just move them over to whatever company name is strongest in that area.

Fred Meyer stores started in the 1920s in Portland. Though they've expanded, (they originally bought out Ralph's in California and QFC in Washington) they're primarily a northwest operation.

A few years back they merged with Kroger which is a large grocery company out of the midwest.

Fred Meyer's is unique to the Pacific Northwest.

first answer deserves best, but be confident, smile! and dress nicely ie: new shoes, nice pants, nice shirt, like a non rocker or suggestive shirt. thats important because adults are afraid of teens that follow like the emo/hip hop/ rock trends, and they want to work with people they would feel comfortable with
