I've been a Packer fan since I was a kid. I like Brett Favre and hope he never retires. But I accept that it has to happen someday. When that day comes, I will likely not watch much football anymore. My interest in football will wane even if the Packers go to more Super Bowls. There is still too much racism in the NFL and questionable ref calls and other nonsense off the field with some players. But there is something about Favre that is fascinating, his passion that is exhilirating to watch. I'm not a bandwagon guy. I've been a fan and hated Favre when he was throwing interceptions early in his career. I wanted Don Majkowski back in (the Majik Man!). Can't believe I thought that.

But yeah, there are some people that flip flop as teams win. That's just human nature. We like to feel like winners so we attach ourselves to winners. I find it hard to blame people for it even if it sounds silly on the outside. But there is a deeper reason for the bandwagon phenomenon. It's not going to change any time soon.

Dallas became popular in the 70's with their success and gained a nationwide audience. It was a pure bandwagon phenomenon.

At least Patriots and Colts fans are primarily from Indy and New England and followed them in their less respectable years. They may not have sold as widely across the nation.

The only difference is Brady was Staubach and it happened 35 years ago for Dallas.

so basically a person can only be qualified as a "real football fan" if they have been a fan of a football team for their whole entire life? right?

AND, you're basically saying that you're the only REAL cowboy fan, and there are no true Patriot fans or Colts fans...am I right?

I believe I did interpret your jibber jabber correctly...

I 100% agree.

There are band wagon fans out there, but it's not fair to say all(or a majority) of fans for one team are bandwaggon fans.

and yes, many other teams also have bandwaggon fans, lot of the people that I know, like one team one year and then the next year like the team who won the championship. Half the Patriot fans I know are bandwaggon fans.

Saints fan since 1985.

Always have been, always will be.

10-6 or 3-13....I'll always cheer.

That said, I'm tired of all the stupid bandwagon-riding questions. It's getting worse with the college fans now....

why are u complaining, if u want bandwagon, go with the fluke that was the saints. all that feel good story crap, the fact is they suck, their secondary has and will be raped, there offense is showing what it shouldve been like last year, sean payton, if he was a good coach, would make adjustments, but no, teams are gameplanning and the saints are getting rocked
